What to expect

Craniosacral Therapy, or CST, is a gentle form of hands-on bodywork centred around the head, spine and sacrum.

Stress, physical injury and trauma can create restrictions within the body that affect this natural rhythm. Rather than using force or deep pressure, your therapist works with an exceptionally light touch to identify areas of restriction and gently encourage the body to release them.

One of the key elements of CST is the stillpoint, a moment of deep stillness where the craniosacral rhythm temporarily pauses. Through carefully placed holds, your therapist encourages the body towards this state, allowing the nervous system time to settle and rebalance.

Settle in

You remain fully clothed throughout the treatment, ideally wearing loose, comfortable clothing.

Your therapist begins by gently monitoring your craniosacral rhythm at different points of the body, from the head through to the sacrum, taking time to identify areas where movement or flow may feel restricted.

Gentle release

Using touch as light as approximately five grams, your therapist applies gentle, specific holds designed to encourage restrictions within the craniosacral system to soften and release.

At certain points, this may encourage a stillpoint, where the natural rhythm temporarily pauses and the body is given an opportunity to deeply settle and self-correct.

Rest & Reconnect

As your body relaxes, you may notice warmth, subtle shifts or a feeling of heaviness as deeply held patterns begin to release.

Many clients find themselves entering a peaceful state somewhere between waking and sleeping. You may also experience a sense of physical or emotional unwinding as stored tension gradually lets go.

Why our craniosacral therapy works

Ease chronic tension & headaches

By working gently around the head, spine and craniosacral system, CST can help relieve tension associated with headaches and migraines

Calm stress & anxiety

The slow, gentle nature of the treatment helps move the body away from a heightened fight-or-flight state and towards deeper rest and relaxation

Support the body after trauma

CST can help the body release patterns of tension that remain following physical accidents, injury or trauma.

Restore energy & balance

For those experiencing fatigue or feeling physically and mentally depleted, the treatment offers a deeply restorative experience that can leave the whole system feeling reset

after your session

The effects of Craniosacral Therapy can continue to unfold after your treatment, so give yourself a little time to ease back into the rest of your day.

Take a Moment to Reset
You may leave your session feeling exceptionally relaxed or even slightly spaced out. This can be part of the body's response as your nervous system continues to settle and recalibrate.

Keep Movement Gentle
Avoid intense exercise for the remainder of the day where possible. A gentle walk can be a lovely way to stay mobile while allowing your body time to integrate the release from your session.

Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water following your treatment to support hydration and the healthy circulation of cerebrospinal fluid.

Hear from our customers

I had a craniosacral therapy and massage session with Dmytro and felt a real shift. It was gentle but surprisingly deep - I left feeling calmer, lighter, and more balanced. Highly recommend if you're dealing with stress or body tension.
